We are planning a water tubing trip on the Buffalo River around Linden Tennessee. We know for sure we turn south from Loretta Lynn's place. My brother has been there but we have not. He cannot remember the name of the place. I'm sure there are a number of places. We live in NW TN and don't want to drive too far. Can anyone tell me where the best place to water tube on the Buffalo River? or if there is a nice place closer, where it is? Thanks. If you would like to email me. my email address is cccgrandsons@yahoo.com

Im not real sure what you're looking for specifically. If you are looking for a rental place I am not aware of any that rent tubes; only canoes and kayaks. Buffalo River Camp & Canoe is just off I-40E at exit 143 you can find them here: www.buffalorivercanoe.com/If you have your own tubes and looking for a nice float try putting in at Seedtick Bridge (Seedtick Road off Hwy13S) and floating to Bluehole which is where Buffalo River Camp & Canoe take-out is. Its about a 4.5mile float and they will shuttle you to the put-in. Not sure about the charge. I think its around $25.

I know of a nice creek with very clear water that we canoe/kayak close to Kentucky Lake (Danville area) if you have your own tubes, which would probaly be closer for ya than the Buffalo.
I've seen people float a 3 mile section of it on tubes earlier in the year but I'm not sure if there would be enough water this late in the year.
If you are interested drop me an e-mail and I'll give you directions so you can go take a look.
