Next Saturday 3-7-09 is supposed to be a warm day would anybody be interested in starting at Normandy dam and paddling either a 8 or 12 mile trip down the Duck river? there would be one short easy portage at Cortner Mill.

Canoes or kayaks makes no difference, the only thing that matters is paddling. It is along drive for a day paddle but I know some good overnight paddles on the lower Duck when the weather warms up. They are around the Centerville area, might even catch a couple of fish.

www.paddletsra.org/duckriver.htmlThe Volunteer Duck River Opportunities, Projects, and Events Schedule for 2009 has been posted.
Visit TSRA's website at www.paddletsra.org and go to the Duck River Opportunities Project button in the navigation bar to learn more about what you can do to participate in restoration and tree planting along the Duck River. While you're at our website, check out 2009 Calendar of Trips and Rvents that we are sponsoring this year. It's going to be a great paddling season!

Shirley I am a member of your fine group and have printed out a copy of this summers paddling schedule and plan on making it to some some of TSRA's trips this summer. I haven't done much white water the last couple of years, which seems to be the groups favorite paddles. I have gotten to the point where I enjoy be on a easy creek or better yet the lake in a long boat with a occasional WW trip at BSF to keep things interesting.

You don't have to worry about slowing us down as we don't get in a hurry on a warm Saturday going down a scenic river. We will stop once for lunch and maybe another time or two if somebody needs to stretch there legs.
