My fiance and I are going to be in Memphis for a week at the end of August. We've done a bunch of canoeing and wanted to get out of the city for a bit and do an overnight canoe trip. If anybody had some suggestions of good spots we would appreciate it.

You might want to look in to Reel foot lake. I think there is a camp ground there and it is supposed to have some nice sencery and good fishing. Or pick up a book called Canoeing in Tennessee by Holly Sherwin it has a lot of good info places to paddle.

Me and some friends are doing a 2 night canoe camping trip on Shoal Creek in Iron City, TN. the weekend before Labor Day.
Just do a search for Shoal Creek Canoe Run. They shuttle if you own your own canoe or rent if you don't.
