Canoes or kayaks makes no difference, the only thing that matters is paddling. It is along drive for a day paddle but I know some good overnight paddles on the lower Duck when the weather warms up. They are around the Centerville area, might even catch a couple of fish.

The bad weather did not come in until late in the afternoon, Just as we reached the boat ramp at the take out. the morning was clear and warm. Percy Priest lake is at winter pool and we were able find several places that should be good fishing this spring. The Nice Mill Dam is a great put in. We will be paddling with a group from Ky this Saturday near Scottsville. Yakjak if you get down this way to paddle and want some company or need ideas on places to go just ask. We are talking about trying to get to Reelfoot lake for a weekend of paddling and fishing this spring.

My sanity might be questionable but I still plan on doing this paddle. I would like to recommend that anybody that comes along bring a change of clothes in a dry bag and something hot to drink in a thermos.

I can't go Sunday, have to do some work on the car while the weather is warm. If the Turnbull Ck you were told about is here in thingyson Co. it is a narrow shallow creek. the Stones river trip is a good trip.

Newsom Mill to Hwy 249 Br = 12 miles Hwy 249 Br to Hwy 70 Br = 11 miles Hwy 70 Br to Harris St Br. = 13 Miles
Newsom Mill to Harris St Br =36 Miles.
That would be a good trip for a weekend But I am to slow to do it in a day, Starting to feel my age. I am interested in going if you would like to do a shorter trip. The ice was in back water places that had no current.

What part of the river are you planning on doing and what time?
Vincent, Jenny and I did 14 miles yesterday starting a Dozier's and paddling long boats up stream. It was a great warm day. There were still severl thick patches of ice.
